Get The Look - DTR Street Style

Lilly Collins was photographed recently wearing fashion’s latest trend: a wonderfully polished and stylish kimono. I especially love this outfit because it works for both day & night and, even better, you probably already have the majority of the fundamental pieces in your closet.

To recreate this look, I recommend Paige’s “Skyline” Skinny Stretch Jeans in Black Ink (available at Nordstrom) paired with Like Mynded’s Floral Print Kimono. I especially love these Combined Wedges from Zara that are the perfect addition to complete the outfit. Add a basic white tank & black purse, and accessorize with a killer necklace (like this Compass necklace from Urban Outfitters) or statement ring (like this one from Forever21) and you’re good to go!

You’ve finally decided that you want to branch out of your makeup regime and try a new shade of lipstick. Yet, so many questions are running through your head: How do you find the perfect color to complement your skin tone? Enhance your hair color? Work with the outfits you want to wear? It’s a daunting process.

When I shop for new makeup, the same thoughts go through my head. I also like finding versatile products that work for a variety of situations, making the process just that much harder. For example, I like to find the perfect lipstick that will look natural during the day but also can make a statement at night and overall, give an effortless vibe. (Trust me, these products exist!)

This past weekend I decided to go Sephora and dedicate a chunk of my day to find my next favorite lip shade for fall. That’s where I discovered the Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge lipstick line. This product allows you to choose the intensity of the lip color, by either applying directly to your lip or after a coat of ChapStick or lip balm.

For my complexion, the Aubergine Velvet shade worked perfectly. During the day, I prefer having only a slight tint of the lip color for a natural hue, but at night can apply directly for a more dramatic look. I highly recommend testing out the Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge lipstick line to see which color works best for you!

While shopping this weekend, I became relatively disappointed with the boot selection for fall. There are some key items that I want to invest, but I must admit, walking through Bergdorf Goodman left me feeling underwhelmed (which for me, is a rarity!).

For those looking for the perfect fall boot, I wanted to create a basic guide to distinguish between what pieces are perfect, must-have investments and what ordinary pieces aren’t worth the splurge for fall.

Kourtney Kardashian has been killing it this summer in regards to her style. From her newly cut bangs (that she rocks so effortlessly) to her edgy looks (who knew a Kardashian could be come more stylish after having two kids!?), Kourtney knows what works for her and sticks to it.

For Kourtney, it’s all about executing her personal style while still maintaing an effortlessly chic look. She continues to play with colors, styles and accessories to create fashion-forward outfits, but balances her statement pieces with basics for an overall classic charm.

Here’s to a wonderful summer of fashion for Kourtney Kardashian – I’m looking forward to many more stylish seasons to come!

DTR Styles Pick of the Week

I have a love-hate relationship with nail polish. I love experimenting with new hues, but at the same time, don’t like to wear outrageous colors. I want a hue that looks chic and classic; one that will work the majority of the outfits in my closet.

I’m so excited to have found Essie’s “No More Film” Nail Polish from their 2012 Resort Collection (available at Nordstrom) – it’s the perfect shade of violet, a subtle color in between navy and purple. It’s a great alternative to navy or black in the summer, but still a wonderful color to wear though fall and winter.
